November 24, 2024I should’ve looked exactly at the size of these lanterns, however, they are still gorgeous. Very intricate and colorful for the festive holidays. I will say that they are maybe only about 3 inches or so tall. It is perfect for me to place on a small bar area so I’m not complaining. But just make sure you measure the size you’re looking for!

October 12, 2024I was super excited to get this.
Upon opening it up, I see that there are black speckles all over the front glass. They’re on the inside of the glass, and I have to imagine it was intended in some sort of artistic way. But they’re so heavily done in some parts, that it obscure the snow people. Particularly the “Dad” snowman, on the right.
The unit functions perfectly well, and it looks nice when it’s on. But those speckles were completely unnecessary, and kinda ruin the appeal a bit.
I looked over the pics in the listing, and I don’t really see those in the pictures. So I’m including some here.
Maybe you’ll like them. It maybe they won’t bother you.
But it’s something worth knowing, before you purchase.
UPDATE: I was mistaken. The “speckles” were bits of glitter that had been stuck to the front surface. No amount of shaking or taking would jar them loose.
Eventually I just let the things run for a full cycle. After about an hour of running, I began to notice some slight change in the “speckle” pattern. After about two hours, I saw some noticeable decrease. After about three hours, it was all pretty much gone.
I let it ruin for a full cycle, also to test out it’s self timer feature.
When I checked on it in the morning, it had stopped running, which is good. The timer works properly. And the globe was crystal clear. I’m including an updated picture of that, as well.
Long story short, just be patient and let the thing run. 😃

It has some weight. The price was good. Only thing was it didn’t come with the electrical cord. I had to find one for it. But it can also work with 3AA batteries. I will keep this out all year round to remind me of my wonderful time in Europe.

Too much of a hassle, and got Covid after event. I just ate the cost of one broken item, very festive and pretty to look at though.

December 7, 2023I did not expect this globe to be this quality of design. It made of plastic but still have weight. Its not glass but it feels
like glass. Yes some of the glitter is stuck on the side of the globe but if you shake it up most will disperse. For those who have the same issue. It is a static charge from the styrofoam its shipped in. It should lose its charge over time and fall off or shake it off the side. The music is pretty good not mp4 quality but seasonal. You can use batteries or plug it in a AC adapter which is not included. You can use your phone USB adapter plug or if you have a surge with a USB port you can use that. You get the USB power adapter cord with it.

November 17, 2023I love this snow globe – it works beautifully when the batteries are new! Unfortunately, the batteries only last about 5 days when using the timer function (on for 6 hours per day). I think this decoration (and many others) would be much better with C or D cell batteries. Ideally, one should be able to leave a decoration on the timer function and have it last for about a month.

However, after a few days the impeller at the bottom that swirls the glitter around the interior broke. Once that puppy goes out it basically ruins the lamp as the liquid inside is thick and the glitter doesn’t move well without it. Might have just been a bum unit, but buyer beware. I returned mine, but may repurchase it again at some point as I really did like the unit when it worked.

December 29, 2022I gave this as a Christmas gift to my daughter-in- law who likes classic Christmas melodies and snow globes. It delighted me too because the little kid in me enjoyed the constantly moving flakes and the light that made them glitter. The old times lantern shape was pleasing too. One plus is that the tunes themselves don’t sound awful, as they do in many music boxes I listened to on XTOY. I’m not sure if we tried to adjust the volume, so I can’t give certain testimony to that. The only con is that it does look somewhat cheaply made. But if the cats knock it over or someone accidentally breaks it, oh well, my d-I-l didn’t lose an heirloom. I almost got one for myself and may do so next year.

Now as to the overall function I’ll hold and revise the review after the gift is given and received. Electronic and electrical items, from my past experience with purchasing, have told me to wait and see how things go.
Recommendation: so far yes, I do and think it would be a happy investment for a holiday gift.

This has a 3 way switch.
1st switch plays music at a given volume and lights up with swirling glitter.
2nd off switch
3rd switch silent and lights up with swirling glitter.
I also like that it takes 3 AA batteries or has a USB cable that comes with it so you can plug it in.
I love the option to plug in the lantern, about 2 feet, only negative thing is I wish the cord to plug in was longer 5 – 6 feet long

November 3, 2022My kids get so excited about new Christmas decor that lights up or plays music. This does both! It’s loud and bright. Very heavy which makes it appear even more expensive. It can be used with batteries (which I haven’t tried, so unsure of how quickly those would be depleted) or a cord. It would be nice if it had a timer. Maybe it would shut off on its own after a period of time, we’ve never left it in that long and no instructions/information was included.

A lot of snow globes don’t rotate the snow and you need to shake them, but this one moves on it’s own. Highly recommended. I might another one with a different character inside. Thanks.

January 5, 2022I love the look of these; I bought 4. But I have two complaints. Firstly, two of them have started emitting an annoying sound: a constant ticking which is obviously the sound of the fan or blower that stirs the glitter. The other issue is a difference in the color of the lights. One has a very nice bright white light that is perfect. The other three have a slightly warmer light, which looks fine alone, when placed beside the white light seems to have an unattractive yellow cast to it. And well, nobody wants to see Santa swirled in yellow snow.

We were very disappointed to discover that this product will not work with batteries. It works fine when plugged in, but my granddaughter can not put this on the shelf she wanted because there is no outlet. And since I bought it early, I am past the return date. If you buy this product, make sure to check it out as soon as you get it.

The music feature was nice, but I did not use it much. It’s a battery sucker so if you don’t use the power adapter like I didn’t because the place I wanted it was too far from an outlet, be prepared to have to change batteries. Overall, I love this lantern and am super pleased that I bought it. Totally worth the $.

December 9, 2020Beware. I bought one of these and it was gorgeous, good quality, Bright, it mesmerizes you just watching. BUT I ordered a second one and it was good for about three or four days. Then the light went out. I returned it for a replacement, it was quick got the replacement before even returned. Had this one on for an hour and the light stopped working. My other one is working fine. So not sure if this is a bad batch of lights or why, but I ended up ordering another from another vendor.

I got her the one with the little boy decorating the tree. I’m very impressed with the quality. The light is bright and the glitter sparkles beautifully. The music is clear and loud. You can choose to play it with or without music. Each toon is 40 seconds give or take. It really is wonderful. I would certainly recommend this to anyone for a gift or Christmas decoration.
